Matsue Travel Guide

Matsue is a region located in the northwestern part of Shimane prefecture which includes the city of Matsue. 

Attractions include Matsue Castle (Chidori Castle), which overlooks the city of Matsue, the Matsue Horikawa Pleasure Boat, which take you through the roughly 3.7 kilometer moat surrounding Matsue Castle, Lake Shinji, where you can see the beautiful sunset, and Tamatsukuri Onsen, a hot springs popular for its skin beautifying hot water. Also, the Eshima Ohashi Bridge, which allows you to take pictures of roads as they stretch to the sky, has recently become a popular spot.

You can get around this area by car, train, or bus.  From major cities, you can fly to Izumo Enmusubi Airport.  From Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, it takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
